Integrated ordering systems

Leading high-street purveyor of freshly made sandwiches and preservative-free, natural foods, Pret a Manger, benefits from increased ordering efficiency and control through the integration of its own stock management systems with those of suppliers.

Amphire’s integration project has enabled all 130 Pret a Manger outlets to send their orders for food and non-food products to their distributor in this way. This time saving and flexible approach to ordering automatically generates an order confirmation from their supplier, which is then directed back to Pret by Amphire’s system. The confirmation highlights any order changes, including delivery dates, and is an important part of the ordering process to ensure the unit is always informed of key delivery information.

The integration replaces the old procedure of faxing orders, which required manual data entry into the system – a very time-consuming task with the risk of human errors.
