BCS award for Amphire

Amphire® Solutions, the leading Software as a Service (SaaS) provider of technology solutions for the foodservice industry and institutional supply chains, today announces that its UK business, Makella, acquired in August of this year, has been honored by the British Computer Society with an IT Industry Award. Acknowledged for its organizational excellence within the consumer goods and services industry, Makella receives the award in partnership with customer Thistle Hotels. The company's SaaS solutions enable and oversee Thistle Hotels' e-purchasing requirements.

Amphire delivers an end to end, purchase to pay process fully integrated into Thistle Hotel's SAP ERP system. The integrated solution gives Thistle control over contracts and pricing changes with their suppliers and the ability to match invoices to order quantities and costs.
Amphire's UK operation currently processes over $2.0 billion worth of electronic transactions and manages over a billion in outsourced purchasing every year for many well known hospitality industry names including Thistle Hotels.

Google, Whitbread, Microsoft and BT were among the winners at the BCS IT Industry Awards announced on December 6th at a gala dinner for fourteen hundred guests. The awards, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, were presented by BBC news broadcaster Kate Silverton in recognition of excellence, professionalism and innovation in IT.
