Foster's gear's up for summer with Makella
June 10, 2007
Scottish & Newcastle has partnered with Makella to create an online promotional deal as part of its Foster’s Grub Club summer support package.
The Foster’s Grub Club website is available to the thousands of licensees in the UK serving Fosters lager. It’s a place where they can find all kinds of support, merchandising materials and ideas.
S&N links with many different partners to provide a lively package of joint promotions for its Foster’s on-trade customers. With summer fast approaching, the company wanted to make it easy for members of the Foster’s Grub Club to put together an appealing menu at a very special price.
Makella helped S&N set up a link from the Foster’s Grub Club to a micro-site powered by mymarket.com.
Customer Marketing Manager Louise Dennett explained: “We wanted to add a link to the Foster’s Grub Club, so customers could order food online and take advantage of some meal deal discounts we had negotiated with 3663. We worked with Makella on the micro-site and it will be live throughout the summer.”
Customers register for free on the site. Once logged in, they can set up a 3663 account so that orders can be placed for the two-for-one frozen ready meals at any time of the day or night, usually with next day delivery.
It is still too early to total up the number of hits to the website, but Nicola Knight, marketing controller for Makella, said: “We’ve made the micro-site easy to navigate, relevant and appealing for customers and we think it will hit the spot this summer.
“With the smoking ban coming in on 1st July, more and more pubs will be looking to food to boost their revenue.”
Louise Dennett concludes: “It is on brief and on message and a useful part of the much bigger Foster’s marketing activity.”
