SQL Server Database Engineer

Position Title: SQL Server Database Engineer

Reports to: Database Manager

Exemption Status: Exempt

Date: September 2008

Work in a team of software and database engineers responsible for delivery of database/web based applications.
Develop conceptual data models and relational data structures
Assist in the development of data access tier components using object relational mapping techniques.
Assist in migration and integration of data and processes from legacy systems to new applications and new technologies.
Work closely with other teams of application developers, system administrators and central operations management.

3+ years experience in database development and administration in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
1+ years C# and/or VB.NET experience a plus.
1+ years XML/XQUERY/PATH experience.
Programming experience with emphasis on designing complex t-sql and .Net procedures that scale well and are optimized for use in a high volume environment.
Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture
Experience with database optimization and performance tuning
Ability to perform moderately complex DBA tasks including data migrations, etl operations, replication, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience with Analysis Services, SSIS, Service Broker, Reporting services a plus.
Experience with Object Oriented programming techniques and concepts a plus.
BA or BS preferred.
