Manager of Application Delivery
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Manager of Application Delivery
Reports to: VP Operations & Engineering
Exemption Status: Exempt
Date: August 2008
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Application Delivery will provide general supervision, release management, and methodology guidance to project management staff for all Amphire applications. The Manager of Application Delivery maintains overall schedule and strategy for Amphire's suite of current and future products.
Supervisor and PM Methods Guidance
- Must be able to provide consistent and timely guidance to a group of project managers within waterfall and Agile techniques.
- Must be able to support and guide a team of technical writers through schedule management and defined deliverables.
- Must be able to support entire team by escalating high level impediments into the management and executive level teams.
- Must communicate objectives and overall strategy both internally to the team and provide metrics of the teams overall performance to executive level management.
Deployment Management
- Maintains deployment consistency through strict adherence to Amphire's release criteria.
- Maintain weekly product delivery status for entire organization.
- Monitors supports needs for critical bug fixes and deployments.
Project Management
- Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams.
- Manages the planning and execution of product efforts, including all associated resources to meet committed delivery dates.
- Provides effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
- Works with Project Managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for all projects and other activities such as software deployment, customer integration and professional services validation.
- Responsible and Accountable for flagging the timing of interdepartmental deliverables and the quality of their output.
Organizational Liaison
- Manages and responds to issues with related groups such as Development, Database, Integration, and Customer Support.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements:
(Minimum qualifications required to perform this job)
- BS/BA degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, to include a minimum of 2 years in a lead role in Agile patterns and practices.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with general SDLC lifecycles and development plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and external-facing communication.
- Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
- Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction and inter-team cohesiveness.
- Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.
- Knowledge of internet and e-business processes, disciplines and standards.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
